Though Todd begins to protest Jackie's decision, the conversation is ultimately cut short when he's struck in the back of the head by a coffee mug that's been launched from the attic. Soon enough, Justin's bike is discovered in the park, but his body is nowhere to be found. Also, the cast is quite interesting and the actors deliver some amazing performances. But it doesn’t build promise that Something Scary is happening, so much as pile on a very tedious atmosphere. This realization is confirmed in a flashback that shows a young Alec along with another boy who comes into contact with Greg. The only problem? A man is already serving time for the old child murders. Another theme that's present in the film is how the suburbs serve as a symbolic labyrinth that seems idyllic but actually harbors an ugly reality. But even though they're hiding the body to protect Connor, they're actually putting him in danger. When his parents return home, they find Connor bound and gagged in their bathtub. I See You is a well-written psychological thriller that builds beautifully to its surprising climax…The premise is hauntingly believable and I could definitely see this becoming a movie, not unlike The Girl on the Train. This makes him appear as something of an underdog since he seems to be handling the situation in a healthy, reasonable manner. Seeing as the house is empty except for Connor, Jackie comes to the conclusion that her son is responsible for attacking her boyfriend. It's a pretty drastic jump to go from cheating on your husband to kidnapping and murdering several children, but her lack of faithfulness doesn't just serve to make Jackie more suspicious. I See You performs an audacious narrative flip midway through, looping back to unlock its opening puzzle by revisiting key events from fresh angles. All they know is that Greg is dead and an intruder had been lurking around their house. However, it turns out that the other child who escaped was, you guessed it, Alec. While this could be seen as Alec wryly foreshadowing the later reveal about Greg's past, in the moment, most audience members are likely to take it as a statement on privilege. From this moment onward, the film recounts events that previously transpired through the perspective of Mindy and Alec. But as she's creeping along, an unexpected person appears and murders Todd. Alec cautiously emerges from the garage upon hearing the gunshots. The film stars Blake Lively and Jason Clarke. Though this doesn't work out for Greg in the end, his power as an officer has allowed him to evade capture and assign blame to an innocent man for years. Spoilers. At this point, Alec seems more and more sadistic, and all signs point to him as Todd's killer and possibly the one who preyed on the children who've gone missing as well. The worst part is, is that you really get a sense of horrific pride from the actors and creators. With this in mind, the audience is going to be looking for clues throughout the film. In addition to all the scares, I See You is filled with enough twists and turns to keep even the most seasoned horror fans on their toes. So Todd's dead, and Greg and Jackie leave the house to hide the body. I See You manages to walk a very fine line in a way that, for me, evokes last year’s The Clovehitch Killer – reframing a familiar story from a new perspective. Though the free food and a rent-free stay is undoubtedly better than sleeping on a park bench, phrogging has some severe drawbacks. It's just, aggravating to watch the whole thing, it makes no sense. However, officers come across a tripwire that was likely used to ensnare Justin. But since the methods and the MOs match the crimes committed years ago, police must grapple with the possibility that they might've convicted the wrong man, leaving the real killer to run free and become active once again. The way the scene is shot, it looks like the boy is being grabbed by an invisible force, but really, this is to throw us off the scent of the real killer. While Mindy is used to these restrictions as an experienced phrogger, first-timer Alec has a difficult time adjusting and quickly becomes bored inside the house. I See You (Spoiler) Fantasy Filmfest. So far, I See You has all the earmarks of a dramatic thriller only to have the plot thicken. While the wealthy lives of the Harpers seem picturesque, they're plagued by dark secrets and dysfunction hiding behind the facade, ultimately leading to their downfall.
